No, I am saying while the vanilla game's traffic AI is indeed pretty garbage, it is also fixable, or at least, ameliorable. This is the rule that makes all cars travel in exactly the same lane if they are going the same destination, rather than spread across the road, and also make them all try and get into that lane at exactly the same point. if you have to switch lanes at some point, and switching later and switching ealier give equal time calculations under 1, switch earlier. If several routes are possible that are equal under point 1, then take the route where you make a turn earlier rather than a route where you make a turn later. And it will make no difference whthere either of the routes is blcoked by traffic, since traffic isn't part of the calculation. Thus if you have two routes, one at 100 km/h and the other at 50 km/hr, th 100 km/hr rute will be taken EVERY time, unless that other route is less than half as long, in which case it will instead be taken every time. traffic conditions are not considered at all. Take the fastest route possible, as computed (only) by adding up the speed x distance of the route segments. It basically amounts to just 2 rules (there are some complications, but this is the gist): If by "normal patterns" you mean real-life, you should throw any such notions out of your head :-) The vanilla AI is extremely simplistic.
